Personal Response by Chris

Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is central to the plan of redemption, which teaches that one can be saved in the kingdom of heaven by a single vicarious act of sacrifice. We believe that Jesus Christ lives as our Savior, an example of goodness, charity, love, and other perfected attributes as recorded in the Bible and other revealed scripture. Jesus Christ in the Mormon Church is taught to have suffered for the sins of the world and to have promised forgiveness to all who live on this earth if they will hearken unto Him and do His will as laid out in the scriptures. He is the living Son of God, the Only Begotten in the flesh, and the mortal Son of Mary.

Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist in the River Jordan to “fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15, 2 Nephi 31:5) and to show us the way to eternal life. He is praised in everyday life as the typical Mormon family takes part in daily prayer and has weekly family home evenings. We renew covenants, or sacred promises, with God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ each week on Sunday in sacrament meeting. In sacrament meeting we partake of the sacrament, or Lord’s supper, that was instituted by Christ to His twelve original Apostles. We seek to know Him in every possible way through following His recorded teachings in the New Testament. In conclusion, we believe in the Apostle Paul’s teachings to the Hebrews; that God and His Son Jesus Christ are unchanging and will stay the same “yesterday, and to day and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). They will continue to reveal truth to Their chosen servants for all to recieve eternal happiness in this life and the life to come through relying on the loving act of the Savior of this world, Jesus Christ.
